What the Ecommerce Products list shows

Open this in Talisk HQ

Ecommerce › Products lists every product your store sells, with how it did in the period you have chosen: units sold, orders, average price, revenue, and the contribution and margin columns once you track product costs.

Products that did not sell

TALISK_HQ reads your Shopify store's product catalogue, not only its orders, so a product shows up here even if nothing sold in the period. It carries zero units, zero revenue and a dash for the average price and margin, and it sits below the products that did sell, whichever column you sort by. Sorting by Product puts everything in one alphabetical list.

Only active products are listed. A draft or archived product in Shopify, or one you have deleted, is left out.

The catalogue is read the moment you connect the store and then about once a day. If you have just connected and the list is empty, it says your products are still syncing; give it a minute. A product you add in Shopify later can take up to a day to appear, but it appears straight away once it sells.

WooCommerce stores show their products once they have sold.

Hiding the products with no sales

Tick Hide products with no sales in the toolbar to see only what sold in the period, which is the quickest way to read a busy month. TALISK_HQ remembers the choice on this device the next time you open the screen. Untick it to see the whole catalogue again.

Products with no sales never change the margin note under the table. "Margin shown for 11 of 24 products" counts only products that sold, because a product with no sales has nothing for a cost to be missing from.

More than one store

If your business has more than one storefront connected, a store selector sits at the right of the Ecommerce tab bar, set to All stores. Pick one store to see only its products, its sales and its margin note. Your choice is remembered on this device and carries to the other Ecommerce tabs, and if that store is disconnected the screen goes back to All stores. With a single store connected there is nothing to choose, so the selector is not shown.

What it is not

This list is a view of your store. It never posts anything to your books, and it is not your profit and loss. For the bookkeeping figures, use Ledger › Reports. To fill in missing product costs, see Track product costs.

Good to know: The list reads your Shopify product catalogue as well as your orders, so a product appears even when nothing sold in the period; it shows zero units and no margin. Only active products are listed, not drafts or archived ones. The catalogue is read when you connect the store and then once a day, so a product added in Shopify a few minutes ago can take up to a day to appear. WooCommerce products appear only once they have sold. Nothing on this list posts to your books.
